4/6/12 – THANKS TO ALL ATHLETES, COACHES, AND SUPPORTERS We would like to thank all the athletes, coaches, and supporters of the NYS Taekwondo Championships in the best tournament thus far. Our competition was the largest ever with athletes and coaches participating from NY, NJ, CT, MA, and VA! Our level of competition was peak with many U.S. national champions, U.S. national team members, and U.S. Open champions competing. Weigh in on friday night and saturday morning went fantastic due to the strong support of our volunteers and cooperation of the athletes, coaches and parents. Saturday morning the tournament started 9am sharp and despite the huge number we still finished at 4:30 PM running 10 rings nonstop! We would like to also announce that the NYS Taekwondo Federation will be sponsoring: 1. Training seminars to the athletes that will be attending nationals this year in Dallas, Texas. (Dates & Times will be announced shortly) 2. NYS Taekwondo Federation will also be sponsoring NEW warmup suits to ALL coaches and athletes that participated in our state championships and will be attending opening ceremony with TEAM NEW YORK STATE at Dallas, Texas. NYS Taekwondo Federation has been supporting athletes, coaches, and schools with Tshirts, Warmup suits, hats, and financial grants to top athletes and referees that meet the support standard of NYS Taekwondo Federation! The support of athletes was based on: 1. attendance of USAT NYS Taekwondo Federation Qualifier 2. USAT national record and USAT jr/sr national attendance 3. 3/31/12 - Official USAT NYS Taekwondo Championships is March 31st 2012It is with enthusiasm and joy that I bid and welcome you to participate in the New York State Taekwondo Tournament that is being held this year on March 31st at Queens College in Flushing, NY. Last year’s tournament proved to be a great success and I have no doubt that this year’s tournament will have the same fantastic outcome as well. This year we continue our tradition in qualifying both new and old competitors to Nationals. As there are many changes in this tournament please read over the material carefully or visit our website for information. This year’s tournament will be the perfect chance to unite the Taekwondo enthusiasts and their different schools in an exciting and motivating environment. Last year’s tournament was a great example of the sportsmanship, talent and dedication of the Taekwondo community and I welcome you to the excitement once again. The Taekwondo community has experienced tremendous growth in the past year and I look forward to seeing and meeting with all of you. Please look over the enclosed material carefully and complete all documents. As this years tournament is run as a USAT state qualifier all registration is done online. Please contact us if online registration is not possible and we will aid in doing so. In order to ensure a smoothly run and on-schedule tournament, I strongly encourage all participants to pre-register early. It is also important to remember that tournament day registrations will not be permitted this year.
